Hi all,

I just found this today, and am very excited! Having failed the Glint bonus only last night (group seems fine, prior to Glint leader says 'DON'T TOUCH EGGS UNTIL ASKED', movie, someone runs over to eggs, no plan, wipe. Textbook) I am keen to hook up with good, patient players!

I am Melchior Erionis E/x 20 just made it to Droknars. Happy to do anything with anyone fun!

I have also summarised all the responses in this thread (for my use, but good for any Johnny-Come-Latelys like myself!), with one char per post listed below. If people are not on these any more let me know and I will strip them from this post.

I agree that a guild of some of these top people would be brilliant! Is there already a guild with people like this in? If not, I am currently in a tiny (3-5 active) guild that is like this at the moment. It is PVE only, but if you are unguilded feel free to PM me.

Count me in. I have the following characters:

Alayna Lynnrose - Mo/x20 - unlocked 95% of the Mo/W skills and is on the last mission. I'd rather not use her for anything other than skill cap runs and completing the last mission.

Alba Lynnrose - E/Me15 - just finished Gates of Kryta and is ready to roll from there (doing missions, quests, and/or slogging through to map points)

Ryanne Lynnrose - R/N16 - has completed most of the quests in the Lion's Arch area, has completed the missions through the one after D'Alessio, and is also ready to roll from there

Last spot is my PvP spot - I can compose a great healing/protection/smiting monk build and a useful warrior build for PvP if anyone wants to put together a Tombs/arena/etc team sometime.

I love playing in a coordinated, mature group. Send me a whisper in-game or a PM through this site if you want to team up sometime. I'm more than happy to download TS/Vent and use it.

edit to add: I'm also interested in the idea posed above that several of us band together to form a guild (hopefully with both PvE and PvP focus). I currently have a guild that is comprised solely of myself. I formed it so that my poor monk could avoid the "join my 1337 guild" spam whispers she got in every town. If enough people want to band together, I'm willing to lend the guild and its very tasteful cape to the cause. Starting a new guild and going capeless would be just fine, too.

I don't see why anyone joins that IRC channel. It's a lot easier to orginise something with people over IRC in real time rather then waiting on forums for people to reply. There's two people in the channel including me @_@

Mods should sticky this or something, make the #GWPUGs channel GWG's official channel or something. I'd be happy to hand over ownership of the channel to them if it becomes more active.

I'm the OP for this thread, and I can't tell you how happy it makes me that it's been bumped, and that people are still using it. I know I do.

One or two people have complained that now the size of this thread (90 responses!) is longer than the friends list and is unwieldy, which is true, but at the moment I can't think of another option. Plus, since most people are not online most of the time (typically I see four or five people from this thread on in a night - last night was particularly barren), and those that are online are frequently involved in missions or whatever, I still only get to party with people from this list occasionally - not as much as I'd like, but oh well. In every instance that I have, however, the people have been a joy to play with.

AzureSpark, thank for the up-to-date summary. A lot of the older posts have gone out of date (I'm no longer 17 and in Maguuma, for example, but at Abaddon and taking my sweet time) and I worry about people forgetting they ever posted to this thread and wondering what the hell I'm talking about when I whisper them, but so far I've only been politely declined or unanswered, never rudely shot down.

Although this was never intended as a recruitment thread, I know my guild has asked several people from this thread to join after a mission or quest (SOP for my guild - no invite until we've partied with someone, and invitations offered to fun, responsible players regardless of whether or not they have a cape - worst that can happen is they say no, right?). Several have declined to join, happy with their guild, which is fine - we remain friends and still party together on occasion. Others have joined our guild, whose charter is basically the tenets I originally posted, and they are EXCELLENT guildmates. I can only assume this is happening elsewhere in the thread as well, which is fine - we'd love to start forming guild alliances with friendly, tolerant (ie, cool) guilds like ours for unrated practice GvG matches.

So don't be shy, go ahead and introduce yourself to others in the thread when you need a hand. I haven't been disappointed once! And THANKS to all you cool people out there for making GW a wonderful experience. Nothing's worse than a troll or an idiot in your team, but nothing's better than a team full of friendly, responsible players.

I, too, think this is an outstanding idea. I'm just a regular guy here, I don't play for thousands of hours, just to relax and with some free time. /age shows that I've averaged little over an hour a day playing. It can be difficult to find good PuGs because of the sheer number of foolish people around.

IGN: Mistress Juliya, a level 20 N/Me, I'm experimenting with different builds and secondaries, I've tried the blood spec N/W, the degen spec N/Me, and am going to give minions a shot once I get refunds back up.

I thought of this, Cedarde, but considering the THOUSANDS of people who play this game and the few dozen of us here on this thread, I suspect you would mainly get the electronic equivalent of people looking at you funny.

It is a bit of a pain to type the names into the friends list, yes. It is also a shame that there is no way of creating a "channel" in game that would allow us to broadcast something like "hey, anyone want to do D'alessio?" to each other - for people to whom this idea appeals, I suggest Sekkira's IRC channel, which (while not in game) does accomplish this.

Otherwise, for the time being, I think the friends list is the best solution the game itself has to offer us. Maybe ANet will come up with a better method in a future update. We can hope.

Great thread! I've just been sent this from a mate of mine in a non-GW forum.

Our guild (Guitarists Adventuring Society - or GAS) are a friendly lot, and some of our most successful PUGs were from meeting up with other people who don't just want to rush through the missions, or quit a party as soon as 1 party member dies. - Funnily enough, we get a better result and have breezed through most of the game with this in mind. (I completed Hells Precipice last night with a few great people and there was much chatting, breathers, strategy discussions, rejoicing and group banter on the way)

So if you see me or any of our guild about, give us a shout :-)
